This is how your pictures will look on your ad, and anywhere else you might post them on the Internet, when you hold your camera vertically, with the trigger button on the bottom. This is called the portrait position. The only reason you might have to take a picture of something with your camera in this position is if you were taking a picture of something vey tall that wouldn't fit in a landscape oriented photograph--something like a tall building or a basketball goal--something like that. Notice how these photos appear small and skinny, and do not take advantage of the full space we've allotted to photos underneath the ad text. Readers are forced to take the extra step of clicking on the images in order to see them well, which is something that you really don't want. What you want if for the reader to click on your images, because they find them compelling and interesting, not because they are forced to just in order to see what you're offering. Photos taken in the .PNG format while holding your camera improperly in the portrait (vertical) position will look even smaller than these .JPG images below. So, avoid ever taking pictures using the .PNG format.
