he Rainbow cleans the air as well as the floor. You can run it just as an air purifier. Or, you can use it to clean your floors - it pulls the dirt into water basin where it gets stuck and then you just flush it. Most vacuums put dirt back into the air through the exhaust. We have very few carpeted floors now and are moving and just trying to down-size our stuff. We have extra attachments that are purchased separately from the system.
