Five Beautiful Does for sale! Three are registered purebred Nigerian Dwarves that come with their papers. One is a white 'Nypine" (half Alpine) with her quarter Alpine blond doeling. Nigerian Dwarves are wonderful small goats that normally give between one and two quarts of rich sweet milk daily. Since their milk is often twice as high in butterfat content as that of other goats it is excellent for cheesemaking or drinking fresh. Additionally goat manure is the best garden fertilizer we have found. These ladies are super colorful. Beauty (Boreas Acres TS River Beauty) was born is 2011 and is one of our foundation does. She is enjoying her year off milking because after producing fourteen lovely kids I thought she deserved a rest and did not breed her last fall. Her udder after kidding is pictured. Beauty's first daughter Thistle (Yukon Valley GR Milkthistle) was born in 2012 and is currently pregnant, due in September. It is so nice to have some milk during the winter and this is also a chance to get some return on your investment by selling the kids or growing the herd. Thistle is pictured on the milk stand. Yarrow (Yukon Valley FW Wild Yarrow) born in 2013 is also a daughter of Beauty. Her coloring is an absolutely stunning black and white blizzard pattern. She is currently dry but has demonstrated great milking capacity in two previous years. Because of her looks and outgoing personality she has potential as a beginners show goat. Cream was born in 2014 and is the most productive member of the herd. Because she is half Alpine she is a little taller and easier to milk. I consider her the perfect all around family milk goat. At this time she is dry and ready to breed this fall. Her doeling was born June third of this year. Two bucks are also part of this herd. Our main sire, Strawberry ( Yukon Valley FW Strawberry) born in 2013, is a robust orange horned buck from good milking lines. He needs a strong wood or stock panel pen. Marshmallow is a small sweet white buck born in 2016. A son of Cream, he is one quarter Alpine, not horned and hardly smells at all and enjoys attention. I am attached to these goats and really want to sell them as a herd to someone who has the time to milk as well as the money and resources to feed and house them properly. Ideally this would mean a spacious well fenced area and an insulated shelter or barn. It would be great if you have goat experience or a willingness to learn a lot quickly. Additionally a friend or partner able to care for goats when you can't is a major asset as is not having a full time job. Goats are a huge commitment and I am looking for a buyer who would plan to keep the herd together for at least three years. Exceptions would be if they found good homes for the horned goats or bucks and of course selling the extra kids. Our foundation goats came from clean herds that tested for diseases annually and since our goats are completely isolated here in Eagle, which is an eight hour drive from Fairbanks, they have remained healthy. Since the Taylor Highway to our remote community closes in October, I am hoping a buyer could come to pick them up in a stock trailer during September. Their hooves are all nicely trimmed and they looking very pretty and ready to give so much back to someone who manages them well. Please call Sonja at 1(907) 547-3068 if you are interested in talking goats or logistics. Best times to catch us are 8:30- 9am or 7-9pm. This is an excellent and very pretty herd to start out with!
