I have 5 adult milk does for sale, and 3 kids. (Selling my beloved herd, because we are leaving state) Doe #1 - Penelope (Penny). (Registered) Breed: 75% Oberhasli / 25% Nubian Born Spring 2013. Freshened Spring 2014. This girl is currently being dried off. She is confirmed pregnant thru blood work, and due to kid at the end of August (proof of pregnancy available for viewing). She is, what I like to call, an "eternal" milker. This girl should produce as long as she is being milked regularly. She is being dried up now, after milking for 3 years straight, with no re-breeding. As a first freshener, she was milking nearly 2 gallons a day (about 14 lbs) for about 6 months post-kidding, then went down to 1 - 1.5 gallons a day (9-10 lbs) for another 6 months. For the past 2 years, she has been milking a steady 3/4 of a gallon a day + (about 6+ lbs). She is VERY friendly. Sweet. Well behaved in the milk stand. Has nice, plump teats, ideas for hand-milking. BIG girl. Heavy producer. Price: $450 Doe #2 - Hope (Not Registered) Breed: 75% Nubian / 25% Oberhasli Born January 2013. Kidded twice (spring 2014 and 2015) with buck/doe twins both times. Easy kiddings. GREAT and attentive mother. Currently in milk. Ready to be bred again this fall. VERY well behaved in the stand. Nice-sized teats for easy hand-milking with large orfice. She milks VERY HEAVILY for about 6-8 months post kidding nearly 2 gallons a day). Production goes down to about a gallon for 6 months after that, and continues to decline a bit after that. She is still milking (2 years after last kidding) and producing a bit over half a gallon a day at this point. Milk is rich in cream (as expected from a Nubian) and Sweet (as expected from the Oberhasli). Price: $350 Doe #3 - Sabina (Registered) Breed: 75% Oberhsali / 25% Nubian Born Spring 2015 Currently in milk. Freshened April 2017. Producing about 1.5 gallons a day. Great mother. Attentive and protective. Well mannered in the milk stand. Nice, very soft udder. Her teats are a bit on the smaller side, but only because she has been nursing twins 24/7, and they never got a chance to "stretch" with milk (but they will stretch once the babies are done nursing). Beautifully large orfice (milk just flows out). Price: $350 Doe #4 - Nala (Registered) Breed: 75% Oberhsali / 25% Nubian Born Spring 2015 Currently in Milk. Freshened April 2017. Producing over 1.5 gallon per day (11-12 lbs). Good mother. Does well in the milk stand, but she has her moments. Soft udder, and nice sized teats with large orfice for easy hand milking. Price: $350 Doe #5 - Chloe (Not registered) Breed: 100% Oberhasli Born in spring 2012 Currently in milk. Freshened Spring 2015, and is currently milking about 3/4 - 1 gallon a day. This is my FAVORITE girl of them all. She will milk FOREVER, as long as she is being milked 2 x a day. I will be honest. This girl probably shouldn't be bred again. She is a smaller doe, but milks SO HEAVY after she kids (2 gallons a day. WAY too much for her smaller body) that she comes down with milk fever. If she IS bred, she needs to be watched like a hawk for about 4 weeks after kidding. If purchased alone, she can come with a FREE young wether as a companion. (Goats should never be kept alone) Price: $250 Goats #6 and #7 - Suzette and Honey (can be registered) Breed: 50% Alpine / 37.5% Oberhasli / 12.5% Nubian The were born 10 days apart in April (4th and 14th), 2017. Their Dams (Sabina and Nala) are sisters, and they have the same Sire (a registered Alpine). Price: $250 each. Goat #8 - Michael (Buckling - will be castrated, can NOT be registered) Breed: 50% Alpine / 37.5% Oberhasli / 12.5% Nubian Born April 4th, 2017 to Sabina. Willing to sell as a pet, a pack goat, or as a meat goat. He will NOT be sold as a breeding buck. Price: $100. I can sell the First Fresheners (Sabina and Nala) as a pair, or I can sell them with their daughters, as mother/daughter pairs. I will NOT sell ANY of the females to be processed for food. They are TERRIFIC producers, and I want to see them keep doing what they are good at. Chloe, Sabina and Nala will not be able to leave for their new home until July 1st. Hope, Penelope, and the 3 kids (Suzette, Honey and Michael) are ready to go now.
