This is a 1981 AM General, M35a2. I used this truck primarily for hauling wood. I drove it through some deep water and sucked in some water through the intake. That blew the head gaskets out. Right after this happened, I put some oil down in the cylinders to prevent any further water damage, because I was going to get it running again, but I have not found the time. So I am selling this truck in its current non-running state. It should be a pretty easy fix for a mechanic. This truck is worth well over this amount in parts alone, I just don’t have the time to mess with it. I priced out a gasket kit for $200, or, for the worst case scenario, I have a line on parts trucks for $500. Also you can get a crate motor re-built with everything all on it for $1,200! But it does not need that, it’s just an option. We put a kenworth heater in this truck so that we did not have to use the original diesel heater, and it is much better. It will get hot inside at any weather. Also we put a 2000 watt circulating water heater on it that will get the engine warm at 40 below just after 30 minutes of plugging it in! Its always been maintained well. We always ran full-synthetic oils. It is a great truck and will do just about anything. This is great deal if you want to put a little effort into it and save a ton of money! Thank you!
