99 VW Passat 1.8 turbo auto 165k Was running good. Starts will idle for a little then stalls. Acts like fuel starvation, water in the fuel? Put heet, injector cleaner in the tank, got it to idle for awhile didn't seem to help. I was using as an emergency backup driver. Doesn't shift into 3rd gear just hits neutral not sure if the gear is out or shifting solenoid is not working doesn't grind make noise more like it was shifted to neutral. Tried manually shifting up to 4th but stays in 3rd. Gear could gone cause reverse is 95% gone will back up when it's cold tries to when warm make slipping sound and moves a little bit, unlike 3rd which does nothing. Going to try and run scan haven't yet. Would make a good fixer upper or parts car. $600 Rod call or texr
