First car I ever owned, had 199,000 miles when I bought her, has 216000 miles now. Was my daily commuter to anchorage until the engine started making baaad noises. I drove her pretty hard so my guess is something in the valves, maybe a slipped piston ring. Last time I had a battery in her (maybe 6 months ago now) she started right up, still sounded terrible though. Might be worth someones time, I'm asking 450 or junk for junk to recoup my loss on the studded tires, otherwise please come haul it away. It is sadly getting to be a bit of an eyesore. I should note, radiator is new, ignition coil and sparkplugs are new, starter was recently done before it died. I'd do it myself but fwd vehicles are lame.
