Meet - Beluga. She is a 1997 Toyota Rav 4, currently on level 24 of her life. With 167,000 miles on her – she could be running for another 150,000 + miles easily. I’ve driven her back and forth to Fairbanks about 6 times – once in the winter too. This is a seasonally used vehicle, I’ve had it for 2 years now and only put around 8,000 miles on her. She has had some reconstruction work done to her body, so if you go to the DMV office they will consider her title Recontructed/Rebuilt, but don’t judge a book by its cover. The heat works, which is important on these cold days – air conditioning does too. She got new breaks and rotors recently (June 2020) Tires are in good condition, I have purchased one new one when I got the vehicle. A few studs have been clingers and are worn into the tires – beluga is a hard one to let go of, but they aren’t making noise when you drive. So she is good for summer or winter. When I purchased her – she was an open air vehicle, no driver side window and a windshield that could have been mistaken as a diamond. I replaced both of those in May of 2019. Her window on the driver side cannot be rolled down, but it will protect you from the elements. Don’t worry, she has a piece of Bright blue duck tape there to tell you. She is no longer an open air vehicle. The car locks and seats do fold down, plus all 5 seatbelts are there – she believes in safety. Her undercarriage could use a deep clean one day, but it’s not any dirtier than any other girls her age. Oil changes have been done every time I restart her or every 3,000 miles. She does have a small oil leak the occurs every so often. One new windshield wiper was purchased in the last 6 months – the driver’s side and it’s amazing. Whenever I have left her for a duration of time I fill her up and leave fuel stabilizer in her so she is able to hibernate and sleep well. She has a charge plus – so when temperatures drop – you can totally plug her in (Just like an electric blanket). She is a great lady. Selling her because I haven’t been living in anchorage and am now based in a village. I’m also looking for a car that is closer to my age… 31… she is too young for me as she is only 24.
Thanks for looking!
