1988 GMC Sierra K3500 4x4
Location
Willow, Alaska
Price

1988 GMC Sierra K3500 4x4 Long Bed.

What it is:

1988 GMC Extended Cab, Long bed w/ 219k miles
K3500 (one ton, single rear wheel axle-not a dually)
GM 5.7L V8 with TH400 automatic transmission
4x4 with auto locking hubs

THE BAD:

The engine is old and I know it will need rebuilt - just don't know how soon. It does not seem to burn/use/lose any oil, so rings are still seemingly good enough. But I think the cam is sloppy and the main bearing is going out. The transmission shifts harder than it should, so it will probably need a rebuild/replace when the engine is done. The rear window is loose (I think the seal needs replaced?) Glass is still fine.

The windshield is the typical Alaska windshield.

THE GOOD:

The body is pretty decent, and the frame is solid. The rubber isn't bad, at least not for summer use.
There are many new parts, so I'll try to give the run down of what I have done in the past year and a half:

head gasket
exhaust manifolds
radiator
radiator hoses
heater core
starter
alternator
muffler
distributor (including cap and rotor)
spark plugs
spark plug wires
brake booster
brake master cylinder
brakes on all four wheels (including calipers)
transmission flush with new filter and fluids
air filter
engine flush with new filter and oil

I'm pretty sure I'm missing things, but you get the idea.

It does run, drive and the heat works; but no A/C. Current registration and tags. Drive it home if you want. It also comes with a set of nice, lightly used, studded tires, but they are not Load E rated (so no heavy hauling with them.)

$1500 or best cash offer in person drives her home!
Thanks for looking!
