Rare 1965 Chevy K20 4x4 in Original Condition. GM made very few of these 4x4's in the 60's (This is not a aftermarket conversion but rather a GM factory built 4x4) and is a rare find these days. This one has great potential for restoration due its almost complete original condition and that the body has very little rust other than mild surface and is solid. The engine is a 283 that is completely stock (other than for electronic ignition) right down to the oil bath air cleaner and always starts easily and runs great with good oil pressure and is not an oil burner. The bed has the original wood and is in good condition with no rot, the tailgate is strong and in good condition. Tires are BF Goodrich snow tread load range E and in nearly new condition. Split rims have been replaced except for the spare. Interior, seat, floor mat, etc is all original and in great condition, heater/fan works. Alternator, starter, water pump, all in good working order This truck comes with authentic reproductions of the factory shop manuals and has the original owners manual as well. Exhaust system was largely replaced with stock components and doesn't leak (needs a new tailpipe) The things that need attention. It has something going on with (I believe) the transfer case which is separate (divorced) on this model and is likely a bearing going out. It also needs the rear pinion seal replaced (have the seal). Those are the main mechanical issues. The lights need to be worked on, probably a bad switch. This truck is geared very low (455 rear end) and would be a poor candidate for a lot of highway miles. 50mph is about its tops for cruising speed. Also if you will be taking this truck back home away from Haines, it will likely need to be trailered due to the mechanical issues with the transfer case (I can drive it to the Alaska ferry here at Haines which at the buyers expense can take it south to as far as Bellingham WA or potentially as far north as Whittier AK). I have owned this truck for several years and have wanted to restore it but it is clear that I will never get the time and attention it deserves to be fixed up by someone who will appreciate this very unique older GM model. This truck had been located in Delta Jct since it was new as near as I can tell and has no road salt damage. Priced dropped to $7500 OBO. Please email me with more questions and more photos. Thanks!
