South Bend Model 29 9' 3/2 Bamboo Fly Rod (Original Bag + Martin Reel)
For the classic‑tackle collector:
Original South Bend Model 29 bamboo fly rod, 9', three‑piece with two tips. One tip is complete and in good condition; the second tip is missing the upper ferrule and will need restoration. Butt and mid sections are straight and structurally sound. Comes with the original canvas rod bag.
Included is a vintage Martin fly reel, period‑correct for this rod and a nice match for display or fishing. Reel is clean and functional.
The Model 29 is one of South Bend’s well‑known mid‑grade production rods from the golden era of American bamboo. Excellent candidate for a light restoration, or fish it as‑is with the intact tip. Original components and hardware throughout.
Hard to find these in Alaska, especially with the original bag and a matching vintage reel.
