Trees will be ready on May 15th for Alaskan orders (ready March 15th for continental US). You can preorder to ensure you receive your trees though. All of my trees are naturally harvested from my homestead in Alaska. Pesticides and any sort of lawn chemicals are not used here- so all of the trees remain in their 100% natural state. 'Starts' are cut from branches of pre-existing trees, placed in organic river water harvested from the Yukon River, and grown 100% naturally. My tree starts average 4 to 6 inches in height. Because these trees are bred for short summers, their specific Alaskan species are hybrid for growing fast. Willow will grow 4 to 5 feet in height each summer (after their first initial 'planting' summer). Willow have been popular for lining fences and lawns. They have a remarkably strong root system that makes them great for hillsides, near running water, and around ponds. They grow straight up and require practically no pruning. Their branches are edible to goats, llamas, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, and all domestic bird species. They make good decorative yard trees for smaller yards because their foliage is not overwhelming- but will provide bits of shade. They do have 'pussies' that sprout for about 2 weeks in the beginning of spring. Willow are a favorite treat among moose and rabbits and will easily draw them in for winter nibbling. Soil Requirements: Moist to Wet Growing Zones: 2-7 The photo (supplied by stockphoto) shows these willow in their natural full grown state along the banks of the Yukon River. In this photo you can see both summer and autumn foliage. Trees are shipped with bare roots rapped in damp bath tissue and plastic wrap. Soil is not supplied- but they will need to be planted within 4 to 5 days of arrival for a successful start.
