1999 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder 2.2. 172257 miles. Transmission went out in April. I got a replacement but haven’t gotten around to putting it in yet.
This was a beater with a heater we got last fall when my son’s truck was being repaired. The Camry was so comfortable and economical we kept it and I started driving it into Anchorage daily instead of my truck.
The engine works great and I had just done spark plugs and wires because I just did the valve cover gasket. I was getting over 32 mpg before the transmission went out.
I had previously put in a new stereo with Bluetooth and various small fixes like a door handle, trunk lock, dash lightbulbs and a new windshield. New summer and winter studded tires.
Everything works…except the transmission of course. I was told the replacement transmission was working with no problems, no shifting issues and the vehicle it came from had a bad engine only.
Thanks for looking.
