Progressive Politics is Destroying America
by Mike Baker
The [Neo-Marxist] progressive movement, often heralded as the harbinger of social justice and equity, has increasingly become a force that undermines the very foundations of American society through policies and agendas that promise equity but deliver instead division, economic instability, and cultural erosion.

Progressivism's push for higher taxes and extensive federal regulation under the guise of environmentalism and wealth redistribution has shown detrimental effects. These policies have lead to increased costs of living, where even in supposedly prosperous blue states, the cost of living soars, making it unaffordable for all but the elite. The focus on sectors like tech and finance concentrates wealth at the expense of widespread economic prosperity. Moreover, these regulations stifle small businesses more than they do large corporations, which can navigate or even benefit from complex regulatory environments.

The deconstruction of traditional gender roles and family structures under the banner of feminism and individual freedom has not liberated society but has instead contributed to higher divorce rates, weakened family units, and confused societal roles. Traditional values are not just being questioned by the Left but are actively being undermined, leading to a society where the social fabric of America is quickly unraveling. The promotion of identity politics furthers this divide, creating a divided tribalistic environment instead of a united society, which ought to be the goal of policymakers.

While some statistics might show a decrease in certain types of crime (because our largest cities are no longer required to provide those statistics), the progressive approach to law enforcement, particularly the leniency towards what's considered minor infractions (like shoplifting or public disorder), has led to a perceived lawlessness. This policy not only demoralizes law enforcement but also erodes public trust in the system's ability to maintain order.

The progressive stance on immigration, often criticized for leading to wage suppression and cultural dilution, fails to address the economic impact on the American working class. While championing open borders as a humanitarian gesture, this policy inadvertently pressures wages, increases competition for jobs, and introduces cultural tensions, undermining the very social cohesion that progressives always claim to foster.

The education system in this country, which is heavily influenced by progressive ideologies, tends to focus more on social engineering than on fostering critical thinking or preserving foundational knowledge. This shift has led to curricula that prioritize political correctness over merit, potentially stunting intellectual diversity and preparing students more for activism than for participation in our nation's workforce.

Progressivism's contribution to political polarization cannot be understated. By pushing for direct democracy measures and undermining traditional [Repubican] political processes with expertise over representation, there's a disconnect where policies are shaped more by emotion and less by deliberative democratic debate. This has led to governance that responds more to the loudest voices rather than the common good of Americans.

While the intentions behind progressive policies might be cloaked in the rhetoric of equity, compassion, and environmental stewardship, the execution has often led to economic disparity, social fragmentation, a decline in public order, and an educational system that divides rather than unites. The challenge lies not in dismissing the ideals of progressivism but in critically evaluating its outcomes, which, as seen through the lenses of most people, are pushing American society towards a precipice of cultural and economic disaster.
