This is a pre-war, pre 64 Winchester Model 70 chambered in 30-06 (30 GOVT 06 as stamped on the barrel). According to the serial number, this rifle was manufactured in 1940. The original stock was shortened to where it rendered it only appropriate for a youngster or petite lady, so I replaced it with a new, attractive walnut stock at a standard LOP of 13.75". It has a Tilden safety lever, making it a pragmatic change for scope use as opposed to the original pre-war flag style. The barrel free floats in the stock. Scope and rings are not part of the sale. Open to full or partial trades with cash supplement. Trade items I am interested in are ammo in 9mm, 7.62x39, 5.56, 7.62x51 (.308) or a Canik Rival S.
