Hi, I need to rehome my beautiful sweet Daphne bird. She’s an umbrella cockatoo that I’ve had for about 16 years. I bought her from a breeder out of Georgia. She will come w a huge stainless steel cage that’s probably 6 feet tall. This is an incredibly difficult decision to make and if it was only me, I would keep her. Unfortunately I have 4 children and she’s getting neglected. She has 1 broken wing from my 2 year old accidentally tripping and falling on her in 2018. She does quite well and can still flap her wings but cannot fly. She’s incredibly kind and sweet hearted. I trust her 100%. She has learned to squawk and scream constantly whenever my partner is home. If he’s not home, and it’s just me and the kids, she’s quiet. That’s our only behavioral issue. She loves to be outside w us in the backyard in the summer and taking showers. If for whatever reason it doesn’t work out with whoever we choose, I’d take her back. I’m looking for someone who has experience w parrots. Someone who has the time to spend w her and doesn’t work an 8-5 M-F job. Cockatoos don’t do well when they’re alone all the time.
