Copper is a lovable Apricot Standard Poodle who was born in January ’26. His adult weight is estimated to be about 55-60#. He is looking for his forever home as part of our Guardian Home Program at Hiland Doodles.
Our Guardian Home Program is an amazing chance for a family to own a wonderful, trained, super high-quality dog! The Guardian Home Program is our co-ownership program that would allow Copper to live in a caring and forever home with lots of love and attention while he is maintained as part of our breeding program until he retires at 8 yrs of age. We will cover all breeding related costs, and the Guardian Home provides the basic care of the dog (loving home, food, exercise, grooming, annual vet visits/vaccinations, etc). Around 8 years old, Copper will be retired by us having him neutered, and full ownership would transfer to the Guardian Home at that time.
Copper is almost housetrained and knows how to use the dog door. He has been working on his obedience training, and knows come/sit/down/stay/leave it, but is still working on ‘off’ (no jumping). He has been kennel/playpen trained, and socialized very well with other dogs, kids, and a cat. Copper is very friendly and extremely affectionate, and quite the cuddler. He is very quick to pick-up commands, he’s playful, gentle, and is medium energy. His easy-going nature and medium energy would have him doing well in any home setting.
Benefits of a Being A Guardian Home:
· Copper is free to his Guardian Home.
· Copper comes fully vaccinated and microchipped and has passed health testing.
· He’s is mostly house-trained, obedience trained, and well socialized.
· The Guardian Home is compensated after each litter he produces.
· The cost of neutering Copper at retirement is at our expense.
· Free boarding with us we are available to do so
· As his breeder, we are here to offer free support if needed to his Guardian Home with any questions, training, & socialization.
The Guardian Home Expectations:
· Preferably should live within 30 minutes of Eagle River
· Fenced yard is preferred
· Cannot own an intact male or female dog
· Must be able and willing to maintain socialization, training, exercise and grooming of the dog
· Must be able and willing to provide non-breeding vet expenses and approved high quality dog food
· Must be a great communicator and willing to send photos/videos/updates and allow visits
· Previous dog ownership experience a plus
· Must be willing to a home inspection and to sign a Guardian Home Agreement Contract
