Meet Theo. Theo is a 2 year old miniature Goldendoodle though he's on the taller side for a mini. so think of him as a perfect medium sized buddy.
We brought him home in April and while we absolutely adore him. we've come to realize that our home just isn't the best long term fit for what he needs.
The Good Stuff.
- Super affectionate and sweet
- Walks great on a leash
- Knows basic commands. sit. talk. and dance
- Crate trained and comes with his crate
- Loves fetch and new toys
- Calm and mellow indoors
- Gets along well with cats and chickens
- Stays close with a wireless fence - he has a tendency to -wander if not contained.
What He Needs. Theo would thrive in a home without small children. He wasn't raised with them and doesn't quite have the patience for unpredictable toddler energy. He does fine with respectful older kids who understand dog boundaries.
He's a dominant male and would prefer to be an only dog or live with a submissive female. While he's friendly overall, he can get nervous around large, overbearing people, a result of past trauma that broke some of his trust. When he feels overwhelmed. he may growl, but with patience and reassurance. he does very well.
Theo would be happiest with someone who's active and can take him on walks and adventures or with someone looking for a loyal, affectionate companion to lay next to them and snuggle.
We use a wireless fence with him and it's worked great to keep him safely in the yard, without it, he does have a tendency to wander off. We did take him to Jim Creek 4wheeling with us and he did great sticking by us.
The picture of his shorter hair is when we got him. He is currently sporting a longer haircut but is set to get groomed on the 20th. We don't intend to cut him down that short unless he needs to be, his hair is more of a curly wave not as tight as a poodle and so he can get away with longer hair.
This isn't an easy decision for us. but we want to see Theo in a home where he can fully thrive. If you think that might be you. feel free to reach out. The rehoming fee is to assure he's got a good home and can be discussed for the right fit.
