Ouachita Jon boat, 24’ long, 56” wide across the bottom, Johnson/Wiseco 50hp prop 2-stroke motor (model: J50BELCO), dual fuel tanks. Registered through 2027 but not quite river ready. Too many projects to dedicate any time to this one.
I performed a leak test after I pulled the old flooring out and found one small gash in the floor. It is in an open, flat area so easily patched. The rest of the boat is sound.
The motor cranks solid but no spark. I performed resistance and output tests on the power pack, coils, stator, etc. Everything Ohms out fine but no AC output from the stator so I suspect that is the issue. Not uncommon for an older motor (1986). Fuel flows fine all the way into the cylinders. New spark plugs and plug wires. Fresh oil in the lower housing but there is a small leak.
Trailer is solid but can use some modernizing. The previous owner built the trailer but could not find the title. I have the instructions from the DMV to title the trailer. He last took the boat out 2000-2001.
Additions include a factory service manual for the Johnson motor, spare power pack and coils, lower case oil, fuel additive, 1-7/8 hitch ball head and some other misc parts.
