This is a Springfield Armory, 1954-1955 era serial number, 30-06 M1 Garand US Military rifle. I am the only civilian owner and it is in excellent condition for a military surplus collectable firearm. I took good care of it and reconditioned the wood with period specific methods (as it needed some cleaning after military storage) and replaced the springs so it operates wonderfully.
INCLUDED:
+ A new vintage style fleece lined canvas bag, 40 M1 military surplus 30-06 rounds
+ A LOT of M-bloc clips and 30-06 brass casings (for reloading) [mass produced store bought 30-06 ammo is too harsh on this gun so it's best to shoot reloads or store bought rounds specifically manufactured for the M1]
+ Original era ammo bandoleers
+ An excellent guide for understanding M1 operation and care inside and out.
Something that might be of interest to certain collectors is that all but two small pieces are Springfield Armory manufacture, meaning it would be very easy for someone to make this rifle "correct grade." It crossed my mind, but it wasn't important to me.
