Please Read Entire Post - Located in Homer I have two registered (Canadian) Fjord geldings that are looking for a new spot. Both 5.5 years old (within a few months of each other), they are half brothers and bonded so I am not willing to separate them. I’ve had them since they were yearlings and, as much as I love them both, I don’t have the time they need to continue their education. These guys are green but very eager and I would love for them to have a home where they’ll get lots of attention and a “job” to keep them busy! My highest priority is finding the right place for them to call home which ideally would include: -Other horses/herdmates -An active “job”: packing, driving, trail riding, etc. These guys are smart and eager to learn. -Someone knowledgeable about feeding VERY “easy keepers” and can keep them fit and healthy These guys are green, so they are not for beginners or someone learning about horse care/training. They need a steady, experienced hand to bring out their full potential which is quite large. Usually in a horse ad that’s code for dangerous and unmanageable, but that’s definitely not these guys. They are sweet and eager to please, they just need consistent training and someone who is capable of giving them direction and good boundaries. They have experienced all of the following: -Trailering (both self load) -Basic sacking out (tarps, umbrellas, bags, etc.) -Farrier trims -All types of farm animals (very comfortable and friendly with pigs, geese, dogs, etc.) -Four wheelers, trucks, cars (have had large excavators driven by them without issue) -Being harnessed -Basic ground driving (stop, start, turn - harness and collar only, some singletree work but not much pulling yet -Cinches, bridles, etc. -Both have carried someone on their backs a few times without issue (not broke to ride but well on the way) -Basic ground work: great leading skills (stop when you stop, back up, etc.), move hindquarters, follow the feel, sending, etc. They would come with one adjustable draft collar that fits both of them, one adjustable farm-style work harness that also fits both of them, a single tree, bridles, and driving lines. They’ve only been barefoot, never showed, and I’ve never had any issues with their feet. Their teeth were floated a few years ago and they were just checked out by the vet and given a clean bill of health. They are both beautiful dun Fjords with really nice conformation. Dan is 14.2 and Saga is 14.1. Admittedly,, they're a little chunky right now but consistent exercise should do the trick. If you’re interested, reach out. I can send you a short bio of each horse and we’ll see if it’s the right fit. Again, I’m mostly interested in the right home for them so please contact me if you think you’re it. Asking $12,000 for the pair but I’m open to negotiations and I will prioritize their living situation above all else. If they’re above your budget but you can offer a 5-star home, contact me and we’ll chat.
