Northland Boerboels has owned Boerboels for over 20 years and has spent the past 17 years actively working to preserve the integrity, stability, and purpose of this incredible breed. Our focus is producing dogs with excellent health, sound structure, and stable, reliable temperaments — Boerboels that are both devoted family companions and capable natural guardians.
We were fortunate to know many of the early Boerboels imported into the United States, and our program reflects years of careful, intentional work to maintain the best qualities of the breed.
The Boerboel is a South African working mastiff originally developed to guard farms and homesteads. They are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and strong protective instincts. When properly raised and guided, they are affectionate, intuitive, and deeply bonded to their families.
These are powerful dogs that thrive with structure, leadership, and involvement in everyday life.
Puppies were born January 1, 2026, and we have both brindle and fawn pups available.

Valhalla is a Northland-bred male with impressive size, substance, and presence while maintaining a stable, sweet nature. At 185 lbs, he is a large, lean, athletic dog who must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. This is Valhalla’s first litter, and he comes from parents known for producing strong structure, stable temperaments, and excellent breed type. He is fully health tested. References from previous puppy owners are available.

Boerboels are intelligent and devoted, but they require consistent leadership, training, and socialization. We are looking for committed homes that understand the responsibility of raising a large working breed.

We do not sell to breeders at this time.
