Ground School training by an ATP rated pilot with an Airframe & Powerplant Certificate. The classroom training involves subjects including aerodynamics, aircraft systems, weight and balance, aircraft manual and performance charts, maintenance log book entries, emergency power-point class dealing with all types of emergency situations, runway incursion avoidance, pilot operations at towered and non-towered airports, airspace in Alaska and the lower 48 states, federal aviation regulations, personal minimums, military operations and intercept procedures, Anchorage, Lake Hood and Merrill field operations, wake turbulence avoidance, weather, aeronautical information manual, Alaska supplement, VFR Dept/Arrival Routes, cross-country plotting and other safety related subjects. Classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 500 pm to 700 pm. Class duration is 8 weeks long.
