No Government Can Make People Equal
by Mike Baker
At Howard University in 1965, Lyndon Johnson declared: "Freedom is not enough... We seek.. not just equality as a right and a theory but equality as a fact and equality as a result."

Hmmm. Remember anything in our nation's Constitution that mandates that our government do anything other than equal protection and opportunity under the Law? Me neither, but I digress.

Notwithstanding over 50 years of so-called "Affirmative Action" programs which actually discriminate [exclusively] against Caucasian men, solely based upon the color of their skin (a direct violation of the Civil Rights Act), in order to achieve government-imposed hiring quotas, the incomes and wealth of blacks is still not equal to those of Caucasians. That's right, folks. In spite of wasting over $24 trillion dollars to create more than 80 federal agencies to administer LBJ's "Great Society," the U.S. Poverty rate has not changed one iota. It's still about 25%, just like it was in 1965.

Flash forward to Joe Biden who pledged to Black America that under his direction the U.S. government will mandate and deliver the equality of results that the racists in the Democrat Party are demanding. If equity does not now exist, Biden promised that he and his party would impose it.

And why not?

If there are actually no differences in people's talents, skills, or merits, which is what the Woketard Left appears to believe, then I suppose their explanation for a consistent inequality of riches and rewards between men and women, and black and white, is that the game is indeed rigged in favor of Caucasians; and that any inequality of riches and rewards that exists is because "systematic racism" coexists in American society alongside "white privilege." However, any reasonable person knows that's not the case. If anything, over the past 60 years, so-called "white" people (European-Americans) have allowed themselves to be deprecated in the country that their forefathers conquered, because the game has been intentionally rigged against them.

Even in light of this reality, the Left persists in their quest for "equity." As Ibram X. Kendi, author of "How to Be an Antiracist," told The New York Times' Ezra Klein: "Racist policies are defined as any policy that leads to racial inequity... intent of the policymaker doesn’t matter. It's all about the fundamental outcome." In other words, policies that ensure an equal place at the starting line but consistently fails to deliver an equal place at the finish line are, de facto, "racist."

According to Kendi's rule, if Asian and black kids start kindergarten in the same class, but Asian kids in 12th grade are studying calculus while most black kids are still trying to master algebra, racism alone can explain such a result. It has nothing to do with the fact that Asian kids are clearly better at mathematics than blacks, just as blacks are generally better athletes than Asians. It's our genetic differences that distinguish us as human beings even before talents, skills, or merits, even though Leftists refuse to admit this fact.

Any inequity of rewards in society is predominantly a result of an inequality of talents and abilities and little else. You know it, and I know it.

In fact, what we are witnessing today is the refusal of true believers in this [Marxist] ideology of equity to accept that their core doctrine is not only not true, it amounts to a demonstrably false political religion.

Freedom is essentially a condition of inequality, not equity. It recognizes as a fact of nature the structural differences inherent in all people, in temperament, character, and capacity -- and it respects those differences. We are not alike and no government can make us so.
