When the Usurper of our once Great Society, LBJ declared his "War on Poverty" in 1964, the Poverty Rate in America was somewhere between 20-25%. Since then, even after spending over $30 trillion dollars creating and funding more than 80 different welfare programs which the federal government now administers, the poverty rate in America has not changed one iota. Instead, a huge Leftist bureaucracy has been created, which continues to steal the earnings of those who produce in order to give it to those who don't. Meanwhile, that same $30 trillion could have housed and fed every poor person who has ever existed in America, in the lap of luxury, no less. What does this prove? It proves that Socialism doesn't work! Both history and common sense ought to have made that clear to everyone by now.
