Life is, among other things, a search for Truth, and open and honest dialogue through the exercise of an individual's Right to Free Speech is the best pathway to the discovery of Truth. Therefore, speech must never squelch or restricted within a Free Society. No matter what kind of speech it is. Otherwise, we cannot learn from each other, and find the Truth by searching for it together. Speech is an outgrowth of thought. Therefore, banning or censoring speech, either written or verbal, is the same as banning thought. There's no milder way to frame it. Banning thought and the free expression of man's thought is, quite literally, mind control. And, as we know, mass mind control was a hallmark of every totalitarian society that's ever existed in history. Who wants to live in a totalitarian society? Not me. History proves that those kinds of societies don't work out too well for anyone except the oligarchs perched on top of everyone else.
