Statist societies produce a situation in which people participate willingly in their own oppression, often out of deep insecurity about their freedom and the future. This is a mode of governance in which the individual liberties of the people are in kept in perpetual crisis, and begin to disappear altogether as most of its citizens, especially young people and low-income groups, are marginalized by the ruling class. The rulers of statist societies have no regard for the Rule of Law, and make no concessions in their ruthless pursuit of power and control over the people.
