Your Rights depend upon the belief that they are divinely ordained. In fact, that's the core principle upon which our Nation is based. That's why our Forefathers spelled that out in the Declaration of Independence. To wit: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are... endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." If you don't believe that your Rights come to you from the Creator of the Universe, then where do you believe they come from? From a government? From other men? From the Laws of Nature, perhaps?

Let me tell you something. The Laws of Nature dictate only one thing; that the strong shall devour the weak. When you abandon the notion that your Rights come to you from the Creator--that they are divine in origin, then you are endorsing the Natural Right of those who are stronger than you to rule over you, to enslave you, and to dispose of you however they might please.
