Government-sponsored propaganda is a hallmark of every oppressive society in modern history. In leftist countries the media is usually directly owned and operated by the government. But here in America it's a bit different. For decades, the federal government pays billions of dollars directly to giant media and entertainment corporations each year in order to deceive the public and shape our opinions on a variety of issues. And now that fewer than 5 corporations own more than 98% of all U.S. mass media and entertainment outlets, that taxpayer money always ends up in the pockets of the handfull of oligarchs who, to a large extent, have long been in control of the U.S. federal government. So, under this system, not only do we have government media control by default, we and our posterity are forced to pay for the propaganda that we are being subjected to on TV and at the theatre.
