My mother recently passed away and I am looking for a responsible forever home for my moms dog here in Fairbanks. He is a chihuahua mix around 8-10 months old and super sweet and playful. He’s from Texas and is adapting to Alaskan life. He gets along great with our other dogs and people once he warms up to them. He’s also good with cats. He was raised with two kittens and an older cat. He’s a typical chihuahua and barks at new people and at unfamiliar sounds. He is currently working on house training and as you can see in the pics he’s wearing a belly band to prevent any accidents in the house.
I am looking for a home in the Fairbanks area without children under 5 and that understands the potential dangers of having a small short haired dog in this environment. Secure yard, home visit and vet reference required. Rehoming fee of $200 required to offset his Veterinary costs which has cost significantly more than the rehoming fee. He has recently been updated on his vaccinations. He will need one booster shot in a month from the day he got his last vaccination. He was heart worm tested and was negative. He was given pro heart 6 to prevent any risk of him contracting heart worms before leaving Texas. He had a fecal sample done that was positive for hook worms and he was treated with panacur for the hookworms. He was just neutered this week which should help with the house training over the next few weeks.
I am being very picky about where he goes because I want to make sure he really will get a loving responsible forever home. He’s been through a lot lately and deserves that at the very least. If you are interested in him please contact me. Again, a secure yard, home visit, vet reference, and rehoming fee required.
